About Peter Schütte

If you have had a chance to look around this website, you’re probably curious about who Peter is.

Peter Schütte is a career photographer and artist. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology Photo School, and has worked extensively in Europe and the U.S. as a landscape, nature, architecture and people photographer. Counting Ansel Adams and Minor White among his mentors, Peter has published eleven books in Europe. His extensive travels to areas of natural beauty in the world have given him broad experience and vision.

Peter has conducted photo workshops and safaris in Portland, Oregon since 1982. At first teaching ‘Seeing and Perception’ to children and since then teaching workshops for people of all ages, leading groups throughout U.S. and Europe. One of the qualities that makes Peter’s workshops so special is that they cater to and encourage the individual’s needs and abilities.

Peter is an enthusiastic and gifted teacher with great experience. Peter was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and now lives and works in Portland, Oregon where he teaches and lectures extensively. He believes that our natural environment needs to be protected as well as shared and loved to be enjoyed.
